Fallow Sediment suggests the quiet composure of raked earth, or the silt deposited after a rain. This rug establishes its presence through a grounded palette and a raw, directional texture. Undyed wool provides the base, its coarse, matte surface showing the natural, tonal variations of the raw fiber, while spun silk introduces cool, silvered grey lines that cut horizontally across the field like strata in exposed rock.
The geometry is understated, composed of these variable bands and subtly shifting blocks of saturated grey and sun-bleached taupe. The low, densely knotted pile, just 5mm high, reveals the individual warp and weft connections, giving the entire surface a dry, tactile quality. There are no applied borders or patterns, only the quiet, structured rhythm of natural materials meeting a loom, grounding a room with quiet, earthen strength.
