The Plisse Collection is an exploration of permanent pleating and folded geometry translated into abstract woven form. We approached this collection with a spare, modern, and deeply architectural perspective. The design language is rooted in the logic of a single continuous piece of cloth mapping a field. Triangulated tessellations and accordion ridge fields create a rhythm of alternating light and shadow. The resulting crease topography reads as the ghost geometry of a flat sheet that was pressed and carefully pulled open into structural form. The aesthetic relies on quiet restraint. Monochrome grounds in sumi black, poplin white, ash, and pewter are sharply punctuated by a single saturated color event, a sharp vermilion stripe or a block of ultramarine blue. This tension between calm discipline and bold disruption defines the collection. To bring these precise technical textures to life, we turned to the ancient slowness of traditional craft. Each rug is hand knotted in Nepal by master artisans. A density of between 100 and 150 knots per square inch ensures the crisp edges of faceted polygons remain sharp and true. The foundation of dense matte New Zealand wool carries a fine micro variation in pile height, allowing the ridge and valley rhythm to be felt under the hand just as much as it is seen. A restrained thread of pure silk is reserved only for the faintest highlight along the crests of the ridges, catching the light like crisp pressed fabric. This level of gallery grade execution requires sixteen to twenty weeks of focused labor on the loom. This make time is a measure of patience rather than delay, an investment in timeless form first geometry that will endure for generations.
