Tonal Drift from the Mica Collection by Weaver & Loom

Imagine the gradual shift from dawn to twilight captured in a single textile: this handwoven piece is an exercise in restrained complexity. Woven from a blend of raw handcarded wool and a significant proportion of fine silk, it features a smooth, low-profile surface punctuated by extremely fine, horizontal ribbing that creates a quiet texture.

The palette is a monochromatic study in soft grey, moving subtly from an extremely pale, cool slate at one end to a warmer, more saturated charcoal at the other. This gentle gradient is achieved not through precise dye fields, but by the natural, inherent variations within the unbleached silk and the careful, slow-pace blending of wool and silk fibers on the loom. The result is a fluid composition that feels both rooted in natural materials and exceptionally refined, offering a soft, almost imperceptible tactile quality underfoot that whispers of modern luxury.
