Linear Onyx from the Cabochon Collection by Weaver & Loom

Black and charcoal lines cut across a silver grey ground with the precise repetition of a machined groove. A single band of saturated malachite green breaks the monochrome field, inset like a precious stone. The dark wool lines have a flat matte finish that grounds the subtle sheen of the surrounding silk blend.

This juxtaposition creates a tactile, stepped texture across the plane. Weft floats add a textural flecking within the dark grid. Every knot contributes to the architectural logic of the geometric structure, offering the cool authority and exactitude of a precision instrument. The result is a piece that carries its weight through graphic contrast rather than applied ornament.

Craftsmanship

Each piece in the Cabochon collection is hand-knotted in Kathmandu, Nepal by master artisans using time-honored Tibetan weaving techniques. Linear Onyx is constructed with 60% tussah silk, 40% chinese wool, achieving a surface that rewards both the eye and the hand.
