Like the residue of mineral deposits left after rainwater evaporates from a raw brass vessel, Kettle Leach explores the interplay of oxidized metal and porous clay. The design captures the point where a liquid solution has run, leaving only a subtle trace. A quiet, off-white wool ground provides the base, its subtle texture holding variations of ivory and chalk.
Against this, fine lines of hand-spun, raw gold silk and warm ochre wool trace an almost accidental, grid-like geometry, resembling the cracked glaze on an old pot. The pile is sheared short and unevenly, emphasizing the variable thickness of the yarn and the slight shifts in tone. This textile functions as a quiet architectural grounding for a space, its imperfect, mineral-informed patterns offering a calm point of interest that registers gradually, like the texture of lime wash.
