The Sellier collection brings the discipline of quiet French mastery to the floor. Twelve rugs speak a language of warm color authority and composed structure: concentric frames, architectural divisions and grounded medallions placed with absolute intention. Richness is expressed through material quality rather than visual noise.
Material warmth carries the collection. New Zealand wool grounds a palette of golden fauve, rich bordeaux, English green and marine blue, while luminous silk is reserved for accent lines, framing details and moments of confident, saturated orange. The silk catches the light and adds depth without ever overwhelming the eye.
Each rug is hand-knotted in Kathmandu with a dense construction that allows sharp, deliberate transitions and precise geometric clarity. Knot densities range from 130 to 180 knots per square inch. Rooted in centuries of decorative-art tradition yet entirely suited to the modern interior, Sellier commands a space with a quiet, undeniable power.
The Collection
Ocre Méridien
Compositional structure defines this handwoven piece, where a deep, golden ochre ground provides the foundation. A series of clean, nested borders frames the composition, moving from a subtle terracotta band into a defining graphite grey perimeter.
Nacre Solstice
Nacre Solstice establishes a clear, architectonic composition through contrasting tones. A deep, saturated charcoal frame anchors the outer perimeter, giving definition to the piece.
Brique Tressée
Centered by a complex, multi-framed cartouche, this composition defines structured proportion. A deep, warm terracotta provides the foundational palette, grounding the layered geometry that draws the eye inward.
Émail Gris
Compositionally centered by a large abstract medallion, this handwoven rug draws the eye to a complex play of cool and warm greys. The design explores depth through layers of bordered frames, rendered in subtle shades of charcoal, slate, and soft dove gray, anchored by deeper tones at the perimeter.
Cartouche Ambre
Cartouche Ambre centers on a detailed medallion of saturated terracotta and ochre, bordered by sequential frames of deep navy and charcoal. This structured piece is defined by its architectural geometry, drawing from the decorative balance of 18th century French enamels.
Éclat Sienne
The composition finds its anchor in a deeply saturated sienna central panel, surrounded by a complex sequence of nested frames in burnt orange and soft clay tones. The borders define the space, providing a structured counterpoint to the vibrant central field.
Onde Indigo
This Composition is defined by a deep indigo field framed by layers of ochre and cream. The central rectangular panel features subtle shifts in the rich blue hue, creating a depth that grounds a room immediately.
Cuivre Étoilé
The deep copper field provides the warm grounding for this piece, its tone reminiscent of burnished metal under low light. Two distinct concentric borders, one of brushed gold and another in a muted sienna, create a structured frame that defines the composition without feeling rigid.
Rubis Élevé
A deeply saturated crimson field forms the core of Rubis Élevé, anchoring the composition with its concentrated warmth. This central pane, recalling the intense pigments of traditional lacquers, is defined by subtle internal shifts in value, preventing monochromatic flattening.
Nuit Azure
Deep, saturated blues form the layered composition of this piece, recalling the quiet depth of a twilight sky. A centered, large medallion, rendered in darker midnight tones, anchors the space and features stylized geometric motifs that catch the light.
Soleil Couchant
Burnt umber and ochre form the foundation of this intricate piece, framed by a broad border in deep terracotta. A large, complex medallion occupies the center, defined by concentric bands of mustard yellow and subtle olive green that contain radiating geometric forms.
Ivoire Solaire
The composition begins with a vast central field of luminous ivory, a warm white that immediately illuminates the interior. This expansive center acts as a serene canvas, framed by a series of precise, repeating borders.
