Beryl Stack from the Cabochon Collection by Weaver & Loom

Beryl Stack takes its composition from the vertical rhythm of stacked, rectangular forms, like the columns of a lapidary collection standing in precise order. A central channel of charcoal grey holds a sequence of raised wool rectangles, their surface sheared level to catch the light.

This architectural linear axis is framed by a broad field of pale, almost silvered green, like translucent aquamarine, that runs to the edge without interruption or border. The visual impact comes from the clear contrast between the dark, shadowed blocks and the light field, and the palpable shift in texture between the dense field and the defined, dimensional rectangles. This handwoven piece offers a cool, authoritative statement in any room, using geometry and the natural shift of light on varied surfaces to provide visual structure rather than traditional ornament.

Craftsmanship

Each piece in the Cabochon collection is hand-knotted in Kathmandu, Nepal by master artisans using time-honored Tibetan weaving techniques. Beryl Stack is constructed with 65% semi-worsted new zealand wool, 35% silk, achieving a surface that rewards both the eye and the hand.
